Here we have a lovely old oak ? French Farmhouse Bench

The Bench is in its original paint which has worn off the seat but can be seen on the legs and underside,it has been waxed and is in the original rustic wood finish.Approx 100 years old from a French farmhouse it has been in constant use and is sturdy and sound.

It has a 1inch approx thick seat and it stands on traditional plinth slat type legs
The bench is 90in (230cms)long, the seat is 1inch/3cms thick and 10inches/25cms deep and 21inches/ 53cms high approx ........

An original Marriage box with original paint.Painted in Black with blue undercoat revealed in places.....front of the box has flowers of various colours painted on it and these are still fresh and distinctive.

There is more wear to the top of the box which is normal.The interior still has its original candle box intact a welcome rarity.The rear legs have been strengthened at some time with wonderful metal straps.
This unique interior piece is full of charm and character.Ancient woodworm visible this has been treated and has not undermined the robust construction of this country piece.

It is indeed a rare find...A marriage box in its original paint.
