A charming example of a Tudor period knife. This item which dates to circa the late 16th Century AD was found in excavations in 1970 on the Thames foreshore in London England. This piece still retains a large section of the handle which is made of sheet bronze and part of the inlay which appears to be bone, is still present.The wooden pommel cap at the end of the handle which held it into the bronze has now sadly decayed. A small chip can be seen at the end of the blade but this does not in anyway detract from what is a very nice item. Conserved after excavation.
