The following four silver coins were recovered from the Rill Cove wreck in 1973. They were salvaged off the wreck of a Merchantman lost in circa 1618 AD on the treacherous Lizard in Cornwall England .
They concist of two and four Reales, minted in Spain or one of her South American Colonies during the reign of Phillip 111 (1598-1620 AD ). The wreck site at Rill Cove is very difficult to work, with enormous movement of tide and sand. This wreck has never been identified and could possibly have been a pirate vessel, and to this day the locals in Cornwall call this the Lizard Treasure wreck.
