A very good Ancient Greek example of the Goddess Tanit . This piece dates from around 300 BC., and was found on undersea excavation in the Mediterranean Ocean .Tanit was known to be the Goddess of fertility in the Phoenician period, and is often shown clutching her breast -as in this case. Size 16.5 CM in height excluding the wooden base which comes with this item.
