Antique 9ct Back & Front Mizpah Locket C1900, oval shape with embossed Mizpah to the front, engraved on the front and the back with flowers , leaves and scrolls.

Length approx 28mm
No markings but has been tested and 9ct front and back
Very good condition the locket contains glass and ring clips.
(This locket does contain hair but can be removed if required)

The term Mizpah is found in the Bible in Genesis Chapter 31, Verse 49 that refers to Mizpah as a watchpost, symbolising a place of sanctuary. It refers to when Jacob and Laban agree at Gilead to a Godsent peace, and they build a memento of stone and named it like their wise covenant MIZPAH, The Lord watch between me and thee when we are absent one from another".
