A rare Roman bronze statue foot .This item which dates to the 1st- 2nd Century AD, shows a foot which has been broken from a statue of a God .This piece is what is called a VOTIVE OFFERING , This is when due to illness or injury a person would have a problem with their health , in this case a foot which maybe injured.They would break the appropriate foot from a statue of their God figure that they worshipped ,and bury it in a sacred place ...They would then pray to that God ,asking for favour to help them recover from that illness.Size 3.2 CM in length.
