A very rare and seldom seen Romano-British small offering dish . This item which dates to circa 1st- 2nd Century AD was found in the New Forest Area of England in the late 1950's. It was used as an offering to the Gods (votive) and would have been deposited with a few coins as payment for prayers answered. No repair or restoration. Size 9.00 CM in dia x 3.0 CM in high.

These six shards are presented in their own display case.
The shards are heavily decorated with various scenes including animals, human figures and leaf designs.
They date to the 1st to early 2nd Century AD, and are all in the finest pottery fabric which was called Samian ware.
These sections would have been from dishes and bowls, which were used on the table in a high status villa.
